CODE OF HONOR ALL UP IN THIS MUG! The match gets underway with the crowd solidly behind 1-2-3 Kid. Kid offers a handshake as the match gets underway and actually gets one. Overall it’s slightly worse than the tapes of shows my local indie fed used to sell in the mid to late 90s.įatu is one half of the tag team champions here. The person filming is positioned pretty well in the crowd and follows the action decently enough. We are in Castle Hall in Osaka for this shindig and like I mentioned this is something a random dude in Japan filmed with a consumer grade camcorder in 1994 so it’s a pretty bare bones affair: no commentary, no onscreen graphics, no camera cuts but honestly it’s not awful. It turns out that during a tour of Japan in 1994 the WWF decided to have an 18-man Royal Rumble match close out the show in Osaka and as someone in the crowd filmed the entire show with a camcorder I am able to watch in some 28 years after the fact so let’s get down to it. It’s Royal Rumble season as since the WWE Network’s cheap as free tier only has Rumbles I’ve seen already and have no real desire to revisit available, I’ve decided to go elsewhere for my guys throwing other guys out of the ring fix…specifically Osaka, Japan on May 9, 1994.
